HomeBuilder Scheme

01 June 2021

After issues were raised regarding the HomeBuilder application form, Labor’s Shadow Minister for Housing and Homelessness Jason Clare raised this matter in Parliament.

With the help of hundreds of emails received about this issue, we forced the Morrison Government to make changes to the HomeBuilder Scheme so that applicants who applied before the cut-off date and are eligible to get the grant.

You can see the story from A Current Affair outlining these changes here.

The HomeBuilder program was designed by the Morrison Government who have responsibility for guidelines such as the application closing date.

If you did not apply before the cut-off date and these recent changes do not apply to you, I strongly encourage you to email the Minister for Housing to inform him of your circumstances.

You may also wish to lodge an objection to your relevant state revenue office. These details can be found on your state’s HomeBuilder application webpage.
